Notre fier brise-glace se plaît à fendre les vagues depuis bientôt trois jours dans l’océan indien à destination de l’archipel du Prince Édouard. Malgré sa corpulente allure et son fort caractère, le Treshnikov tangue fort!! Une houle de seize mètres a été enregistrée la nuit dernière. Les spécialistes l’expliquent par la forme arrondie de sa quille. Ceci provoque un roulis constant, véritable métronome berçant notre quotidien.
The Akademik Treshnikov has now left Cape Town three days ago and is slowly approaching the Prince Edward Islands, the first stop of its long journey around Antarctica. In spite of its impressive size, the Treshnikov has been rolling quite substantially in the last two days in waves that have reached up to 16 meters last night. The constant movement accompanies our daily routines. Sometimes unnoticed, sometimes throwing around the cups or office material that we might have forgotten to fasten properly.
