The 3rd call for proposals for the Mertz Fellowship is now open. Launched in 2022, the programme aims to promote collaboration and networking between Swiss and Australian polar and high-altitude science communities, with a focus on early-career researchers.
The Mertz Fellowship is dedicated to PhD students and early-career researchers (max. 5 years after the PhD award at the time of the proposal submission) based in Switzerland or in Australia. The programme supports their active involvement in polar and high-altitude research through short-term exchange visits and joint projects. One AUD 10,000 grant is made available per year. Implemented in collaboration with the Swiss Polar Institute and managed by the Embassy of Switzerland in Australia, the Mertz Fellowship programme receives funding from the Swissnex network, part of the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).
The deadline for submission is 31 October 2024, 23:00 CET.
The details about the eligibility, the evaluation criteria, the submission process and the application form can be found on this webpage.
