PolARTS is a joint initiative by Pro Helvetia and the Swiss Polar Institute (SPI) aimed at encouraging exchange and fostering collaboration between arts and polar science.
PolARTS supports up to three tandems, each composed of one polar scientist and one artist from Switzerland, over a period of 12 to 18 months. These tandems will meet regularly in various settings such as laboratories, studios, scientific and artistic events to share insights into their research and professional practices. PolARTS is open to Swiss-based scientists working in the field of polar and high-altitude science and to Swiss-based artists working in the disciplines supported by Pro Helvetia. The focus of PolARTS lies on exchanges and exploratory processes rather than tangible outputs.
The application deadline for the call is 31 January 2026, 17:00 (Swiss time).
