In view of the MoU signed between Swiss Polar Institute (SPI) and the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) and the close collaborations between our respective scientific communities, we are pleased to relay the following information from AWI about access to their POLAR 5 and/or POLAR 6 aircraft for scientific operations.
The current application phase is open. Project proposals are due on 30.11.2025 for the period October 2027 until September 2028.
For the period October 2028 to September 2029, AWI will release the following call in autumn 2026, therefore, interested scientists are kindly asked to refrain from submitting proposals for the period beyond September 2028.
