The success of scientific research often hinges on effective fieldwork, which is best achieved through a strong, supportive, and positive team culture. Actively promoting inclusiveness, respect, and communication ensures a safe and productive field campaign for every team member.
Throughout this course, we will explore essential leadership and communication tools that empower every field team member, regardless of their role, to actively contribute to fostering a positive and supportive environment:
- formulating and using codes of conduct;
- leadership roles and styles;
- decision making styles;
- debriefing as a risk management tool;
- bystander effect and intervention.
Free of charge, this course comprises an in-person participative workshop and a series of short videos that introduce the key concepts, designed to be viewed before the workshop. The pre-course preparation is anticipated to take no more than 90 minutes. Links to videos and other practical details will be emailed to participants prior to the workshop.
