Participation in Innsbruck Summer School of Alpine Research 2022
Université de Lausanne - UNIL
Lay summary
Description of the programme
The summer-school mainly deals with Close Range Sensing Techniques in Alpine Terrain. In addition of talks by renowned scientists and technical key-notes by the organizers, we had a group project that extended along the week.
How did you personally benefit from the programme?
It was beneficial to me as I could get in touch with close range sensing techniques that I do not use in my PhD project. It gave me some ideas concerning how I could improve my work. Also, in term of networking, it was valuable to get to know other young scientists working on similar topics.
What were the highlights of the training?
The poster sessions between the participants and the data processing sessions working on our data.
Would you recommend the programme to other students?
I would strongly recommend it. The fieldwork day is the great opportunity to learn from professors that have plenty of field experience, and the group project can be a way to practice your management and communication skills by working in close collaboration with other PhD students. I also believe that the wide panel of subjects introduced during the key-notes and talks is a strength of this programme.
