The document “Polar Science in Switzerland – proposed priorities for the SPI up to 2025 and beyond” identifies strengths within the Swiss polar research landscape, outlines a way forward to grow them, and proposes the development of new activities for the near future up to 2025, and beyond. It forms the basis for the SPI’s current strategy and future activities.

This document has been prepared by the SPI Science and Technology Advisory Board (STAB) together with the Swiss polar science community. It is based on inputs from the discussions at the Swiss Polar Day 2018, a preparatory community consultation of 45 proposals from 11 institutions (Call for Ideas (PDF)) and the consultation of the draft text to which over 150 comments and suggestions were submitted (PDF).
