ACE’s next step is taking place in St. Petersburg, in Russia, home port of the vessel Akademik Treshnikov, that carried the expedition all around Antarctica. There, the Consulate General of Switzerland, in cooperation with the Swiss Polar Institute (SPI) and the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI), is organising a one-day conference and exhibition on June 15th, 2017 at at the Presidential Library, on the topics of Swiss Polar Research and the Antarctic Circumnavigation Expedition.

This event is dedicated to researchers, scientists and students interested in polar research and in particular in the related fields of climatology, glaciology, oceanography, biology and biochemistry. They will have the unique opportunity to discover the Antarctic Circumnavigation Expedition (ACE), to learn about its challenges and to engage with scientists who took part in this adventure.
The conference and exhibition will take place on June 15th, 2017, from 10am to 5pm, at the Presidential Library, Senatsquaia Sq. 3, St. Petersburg.
